Top Ranking GE Series Rod End Joint Bearing GE140ES-2RS Spherical Plain Radial Bearings GE140ES 2RS
GE series radial spherical plain bearing is double sealed and is suitable for pivoting, high load bearing applications where angular misalignment is required, such as in hydraulic cylinder rod ends. Its outer race has a single fracture for ease of inner ring installation, its inner and outer rings have grooves and oil holes for ease of lubrication, its double Nitrile seals keep out contaminants, and its wide inner ring cross section provides high misalignment adjustment. This roller bearing's CN (normal) radial clearance is for applications where thermal expansion does not reduce clearance. This bearing's inner and outer rings are manufactured from through-hardened carbon chromium steel and heat treated to increase hardness for optimum wear resistance. Its spherical contact surfaces are precision ground to maximize surface-to-surface contact of inner and outer rings. This bearing is phosphate treated prior to coating with a dry film lubricant for corrosion resistance and it has an operating temperature range of -22 to 266 degrees F (-30 to 130 degrees C). This spherical plain bearing is suitable for use in vehicle suspensions and heavy equipment articulated joints.

How do I ensure proper lubrication for Spherical Plain Bearings in high-load, low-speed applications?
Proper lubrication is critical for Spherical Plain Bearings, especially in demanding environments with heavy loads and minimal rotation. For these conditions, it's recommended to use a heavy-duty grease or oil that can withstand high pressures and resist washout. Regular re-lubrication intervals should be established based on the specific application's load, speed, and environmental factors. Consider using seals or protective caps compatible with your Spherical Plain Bearing design to prevent contamination and retain lubrication, thereby extending bearing life and performance.
What material options are available for Spherical Plain Bearings to handle corrosive environments?
To cope with corrosive environments, Spherical Plain Bearings are commonly offered in various corrosion-resistant materials. Standard options include stainless steel, which provides good general corrosion resistance, or for more severe conditions, bearings made from special alloys like duplex stainless steel or those with PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) liner materials can be utilized. These materials, particularly PTFE-based ones, offer low friction and excellent chemical resistance, making them ideal for marine or chemical processing industries where corrosion is a major concern.
